Forschungsschwerpunkte

The aim of this project is the examination of process parameters as well as the relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties after ECAP under cryogenic conditions. Using electron microscopy, the effect of dynamic strain aging on shear band formation, failure and microstructural evolution is investigated. In combination with careful mechanical characterization, fundamental deformation mechanisms can be documented.
