In project phase 2, gradation rolling and gradation pressing were developed as severe plastic defor¬mation processes for the realization of inhomogeneous microstructures with characteristic properta gradients. The effect of different processing conditions on the material characteristics and on the true strain distribution will be investigated. Moreover, the effects of cryogenic process conditions on gradients in fine-grained microstructures will be studied in detail.
