Forschungsschwerpunkte
The influence of microstructural heterogeneities as micro-galvanic elements in both substrate and coating will be investigated by the application of high resolution methods with and without superimposed mechanical strain. Furthermore, the effect of process parameters on the microstructural development of anodic coatings needs to be clarified. Material and process parameters that provide protective conversion coatings on aluminium-based substrates which can be barely anodized will be identified.
