Forschungsschwerpunkte

The aim of this project is to enhance racing sleds with a special focus on the used materials. In cooperation with Thüringer Schlitten- und Bobsportverband e.V. the development of new designs for the sleds considering damping, mass reduction and stability is one of the key goals. For the first time, the steel based design is modified by incorporating ultrafine grained aluminum to optimize the vibration and damping characteristics.
